NMR Spectroscopy

Facility information

NMR spectroscopy can provide residue-specific information on structure, dynamics and interactions that is complementary to information from other biophysical methods such as crystallography, cryo-EM, small angle X-ray scattering and calorimetry. The Redfield, Schnell and Vakonakis groups use NMR as a primary research tool while many other Biochemistry groups have found that NMR can help them to address specific research questions.

The Biochemistry NMR facility has four solution-state Bruker spectrometers running at 1H frequencies of 500, 600, 750 and 950 MHz. All spectrometers have high-sensitivity cryoprobes for 1H/13C/15N detection. The NMR facility is located in the basement of the Rex Richards Building, close to New Biochemistry. If you are interested in using NMR in your research or would like more information about the NMR facility please contact Christina Redfield.
