Professor Judith Armitage has been elected the next President of The Microbiology Society.

The Microbiology Society was founded in 1945 with Sir Alexander Fleming as its first President. It is the largest microbiology society in Europe with over 4000 members in 65 different countries. She will take up the 3 year office in January 2019.
