On Saturday 8th October, the Department of Biochemistry hosted a stall at the Explorazone as part of IF Oxford 2022 at the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church. We had a lot of visitors and willing participants to explore crystallography, lots of folding in DNA origami, and making sequence bracelets, all while learning about the genetic code and DNA repair.
Hosted by volunteers from across the Department and the Centre for Medicines Discovery, the steady stream of visitors got the chance to hear from researchers about what DNA is and how it is protected from damage on a daily basis.
There are still events going on until the end of the month so check out their website to find out more!
